William Long
Ph.D. Student Co-advised with Dr. Tom Kuhar William Long is originally from Vero Beach, Florida, and holds an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. During his time at UF, he gained valuable research experience working with Adam Dale in the Entomology and Nematology Department and expanded his industry perspective as a summer intern with Syngenta. His current research centers on investigating isoxazoline chemistry, exploring resistance mechanisms, and examining their potential applications in alfalfa.

Originally from Northern Virginia (NOVA), Peter Schiff completed his undergraduate degree in microbiology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. During his time at Virginia Tech, he conducted undergraduate research focused on vector‑borne pathogens. His current work centers on developing innovative methods that use ants to detect the spotted lanternfly, a significant and rapidly spreading invasive species.
